Family & Community
The extended family remains the core social unit among the Reli. Community gatherings are central to celebrations, rituals, and support in times of need - a reflection of a people known for hospitality and generosity, even as displacement and conflict have tested that community fabric in recent decades.
Rites & Traditions
Initiation ceremonies mark the passage of boys and girls into adulthood, rooted in periods of instruction on Reli culture, customs, and history. Traditional music, dance, and storytelling continue to play an important role in Reli society, passed down through generations of elders.
Faith
Christianity, Islam, and indigenous Reli religious practice coexist across the community, with many households blending traditional belief with their faith practice.

Representation & Justice
Council of Elders
Senior members entrusted with guidance on custom, tradition, and dispute mediation at the community level.
Women Council
Represents the interests and welfare of Reli women within the governance structure of Tumata Lo Reli.
Youth Council
Gives young Reli people a formal voice in the institution's decisions and development priorities.
Customary Justice
Clan mediation panels, chiefdom courts, and the Council of Elders resolve family and land disputes through dialogue and reconciliation.
Protection of Minority Communities
Recognizing that the Reli are among Uganda's smallest indigenous communities, the General Assembly has appealed to Government to implement measures protecting the cultural identity, language, heritage, and institutions of minority communities in accordance with national and international obligations on cultural rights.
